“Let the weak say ‘I am a mighty man’”  Joel 3:10

When sinners receive salvation, one of the first things they do is stop using foul language. In other words, they stop cursing.  But Christians need their mouths cleaned out too, because so much corrupt communication comes out of it by speaking negatively. Negative words about yourself create a pathway to failure. You may have stopped speaking profanity, but you still may be cursing your life by your words. With your own lips you speak words of defeat and discouragement, words of sickness and words of poverty. The Bible says your tongue will bless or curse you. It will make or break you.  Create an environment of good by what you speak. Change your situations by declaring yourself, your family, your present and future healed, blessed, happy and prosperous.

“Search me O God and know my heart” Psalm 139:23

Many people are trying to improve their lives by changing what they see about themselves. They attempt to get rid of bad habits, negative attitudes, and bad tempers. But these are all fruit of past decisions. It only takes one painful experience for a person’s heart to make room for anger and unforgiveness. The Word of God says that “out of the heart flows the issues of life”.  If the heart is contaminated, then everything that comes out of you is also contaminated.

You may think you have it under control, but the truth is you’re not free. The only way to get rid of the fruit is to get to the root. Why do you have negative attitudes and why do you get angry so easily? David prayed for God to search his heart. That’s the starting point. Ask God to bring to light all you have been holding onto that has been buried deep in you heart and mind and have molded you into someone you’re not proud of. He will show you what has been hindering you, why you’re never happy and why you just don’t get along with people. It’s time to forgive. It’s time to change. It’s time to let go and live this life with a clean, pure heart.

"Death and life are in the power of the tongue" Prov. 18:21

Whenever Jesus was faced with a situation that needed a miracle, He never confessed anything negative. He never said "I don't see a way out of this". He never held His head down in despair and hopelessness. Instead, He gave thanks to God the Father and took control. He took authority over the storm and said "Peace, be still". Lazarus was buried for four days. You know what happens to a dead body after that amount of time. And so did Jesus. After giving thanks to the Father, He proceeded to shout with a loud voice "Lazarus, come forth". And out from the tomb Lazarus came forth. Alive and healed! No sign of decay. Death bowed its knee. When you feel a pain in your body, if you are trying to make ends meet or if there is trouble on the job, find God's Word about your situation. Believe it and declare it. Instead of saying "I don't feel well" say "thank you Jesus that by Your stripes I am healed". If you are having a financially hard time, confess that Jesus is your Jehovah Jireh, your Provider. It's time to speak God's Word that has all power to change your situation. Don't give up, get up and declare what is rightfully yours. Use the authority you have in Christ and make your situation bow its knee.

"I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly..."

Many Christians face fear and stress these days. These are just two of the many weapons from God's adversary, Satan, that are meant to overcome them and rob them of the abundant life that is promised by God through Jesus Christ. John 10:10 gives us Jesus' words: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly." There are many things in the world today that steal a person's peace. The world offers peace through chemical crutches. Jesus offers peace that is everlasting because He is the Prince of Peace Himself. He is the only way to peace. Whatever the situation is that is stealing your peace, go to the Lord in prayer and give Him thanks. Don't look at what you don't have in your life; look at what you have already been blessed with. Turn your cares into prayers. Put your trust in Him and live that blessed, abundant life.

Devotion to Christ

As Christians, we should have a passion to be centered on knowing God the Father through His Son Jesus Christ.

Our devotion to our Lord is both a strong desire and firm commitment to keep Him first place in our life, replace our desires with His. The deep cry of every person's heart is to know God and that hunger could only be satisfied by spending time with Him. He is a loving God and as we get to know Him, we can easily trust and obey Him.

Get to know Him by reading His Word, praying, spending quiet time with Him to hear what He has to tell us as individuals. A life of obedience is devotion to Him.

Our life is a result of choices we make. When we make the choice to have a lifestyle that includes devotion to Jesus Christ, we will have the strength and faith to meet every situation.
