Make the Change

To be born again means a new beginning, a brand new person.

To be born again means a new beginning, a brand new person.

John 3:3  -  “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the Kingdom of God”.

You don’t have to live in the clutches of sin anymore.  Yes, that’s right!  God has given you a way of escape through His Son, Jesus Christ. You may feel far away from Him, or that you are too big of a sinner. Or you may believe that He won’t forgive you. Luke 19:10 says “For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost”.  He loves you so much that He sought you out. You could be rich, poor, old or young – it doesn’t matter, He loves us all.

We were created by God for one purpose – so we could have fellowship with Him.

Adam and Eve enjoyed that fellowship with God the Father until they sinned in the Garden of Eden.  God’s plan to restore that fellowship with mankind was by sending His Son Jesus. All you have to do is place your faith in Jesus Christ and what He did on the Cross -  to forgive you from your sins and save you from eternally paying the price for those sins yourself.

It doesn’t matter how good you are or how many good things you do. It doesn’t matter if you give to charities or do volunteer work. The truth is you will never be good enough to save yourself from eternal damnation because whatever good works you desire or commit to do, it will not eradicate your past sins or shortcomings. Even if you started today and never sinned again,  (if you truly thought about that, that is impossible) you could still not absolve yourself from past sins.  We could never earn His love or forgiveness.  Ephesians 2:8-9 says “For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.”. God sent Jesus to be our substitute and while on the Cross, He was paying the price for our sins. The penalty and payment He incurred on the Cross was for the guilt of the human race.

He loves you and offers you a wonderful plan for your life. No longer do you have to be a slave to sin, but you can become an instrument of righteousness (Romans 6:12-13).  You have an opportunity before you to experience God’s plan for wholeness. He wants you whole and free.

So ask yourself – where do I want to spend eternity? Do I want to live forever in the lake of fire with the devil and his angels paying the penalty for my sins or would I prefer to be with the angels around God’s throne “saying with a loud voice, ‘Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing’” forever? My friend, no devil can blind you from the right answer here. God sent Jesus for you. He wants you and the real you wants Him.

It’s time to accept His free gift of salvation.  The choice is yours. No one can make it for you. Accept Jesus Christ into your heart. First, admit that you are a sinner because no person is without sin (Romans 3:23).  Second, confess those sins to God.  1 John 1:8 says “If we say that we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”.  That is good news.  No wonder why the gospel is called “the Good News”. If you believe that Jesus is the Son of God and came and died for the sins of the world, then it’s time to confess that and be saved. Romans 10:9-10 says “that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved; for with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation”.

So, are you ready to make the most important decision you will ever make?

Let’s Pray:

Father, I have been living my life my own way. I know I am a sinner in need of forgiveness. I know you sent Jesus, Your Son to die for my sins and the sins of the whole world. I believe that He was buried, went to hell and triumphed over death and the grave. I believe He was resurrected on the third day and is now seated at Your right hand.  I receive Him now by faith into my life. Jesus I make you my Lord and my Savior. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me a new life and a new heart. Make me the kind of person you want me to be.  In Jesus Name, Amen.

If you sincerely prayed this, you are now a brand new person. You went from darkness to light, from sin to righteousness and from death to eternal life with Jesus Christ. You are now sin’s master. Instead of sin reigning over you, you reign over sin

For by grace you have been saved through faith; and not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast.
(Eph 2:8-9)

Do not let sin control the way you live; do not give in to sinful desires. Do not let any part of your body become an instrument of evil to serve sin. Instead, give yourselves completely to God, for you were dead, but now you have new life. So use your whole body as an instrument to do what is right for the glory of God.
(Rom 6:12-13)

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.
(Rom 10:9-10)
